Okay, I have to first say that I love watching football and it doesn't bother me that the players make millions of dollars. They work hard and put in years of work to get to this point. Plus most NFL players careers only last for a couple of years. The thing I want to talk about it the Superbowl rings. Sure the winning team is proud of them however giving an overpriced ring to men that are making millions of dollars is a slap in the face to those that are struggling to make ends meet.
It is estimated that the NFL supplies the winning team with 150 rings for them to distribute to the players and staff. Each ring costs an estimated $5,000 dollars. That is $750,000 dollars for rings? What if the NFL players on the winning team would tell the league we only want you to spend $1,000 on our Superbowl ring and give the other $4,000 to a charity that would be $600,000 that could go to feed the hungry or help find a cure for cancer. So maybe instead of the players all wearing pink gloves and shoes in October they could fess up some dollars instead in February. What do you say NFL players it's your move.
